Boracay here I come

Went to Boracay for 3 days and 2 nights. My friends got an amazing deal with SEAIR  http://flyseair.com/  for Php5000.00++ with airfare and plane fare all in. It was my first time to be in Boracay. The beach at station 1 was amazing. What we did, we stayed at  La Carmela   http://www.lacarmeladeboracay.com/ which was located at Station 2 and rode the tricycle to swim at Station 1. Or you can walk and check out the surroundings and the view.

While walking, people will come up to you and offer you prices for Island hopping, snorkeling etc. TIP: "tawad" is the word, prices for these activities are different if you're filipino (dapat maki-pag usap ka ng maayos). My friends and I opted for Island hopping with snorkeling all for Php 1500.00 and ATV(additional fee). Pero snorkeling pa lang happy na ako. The sea in Boracay is really rich and alive. I love the sand...malamig sa paa.

FOOD in Bora is expensive but you can opt for ANDOKS or go to D'talipapa and buy sea food and have it cooked(if you are on a tight budget, dont opt for baked tahong) I was charged Php 500.00 for 2 kilos of baked tahong. But it was really good.

Tricycle is Php 10.00 per head but they also can be hired for a special fee.

That was my day in BORA!

Ngibat, Tinglayan, Kalinga

We use to go to Basao in 2007 and 2008 to conduct Vacation Bible School. But this year, due to the inevitable landslide somewhere in Banaue, our team went back all the way to Santiago, Isabela and went to Kalinga via Tabuk. Due to this circumstances, our team was assigned to go up to Ngibat instead of Basao. its a 2 hour hike from Maswa, where we hold our anual Medical Mission. The hike was worth it. check the view! Check out this video too http://blip.tv/file/2155586/

Bobbi Brown

This is a gift from my friend who got married last year. This was bought in Switzerland. It has a really cute bag( my fave color!) . The bag comes with an eyeshadow, lipstick, blush, different types of brush and liquid eyeliner.

Mara Flora

Its a fruit found in Uma, Lubuagan, Kalinga. They call it Mara Flora. I have not tasted it but I tried to google it and have not found anything written about it. If you know something dear readers, please feel free to write comments. thanks

Sudoko

Some of my friends have been addicted to this mind game. looking at it seemed complicated. I was doubting if I could do it. Well, I took the challenged and bought myself this book. I was determined(haha). My strategy? to answer one puzzle before I got sleep. So far so good, my plan was working. Mind over matter lang yan..haha. I bought this book from Southmall, school supplies area..ground floor...

Nature's Garden products

I saw these products at Metropoint Mall. It has good packaging. Except for the name, it sounded chinese but the price was affordable. The first time I used it, my skin felt so smooth. It's not greasy. I just wanted to try the product coz it has L-carnitine. L- carnitine is a fat burning agent found in Fitrum and Fit and Right delmonte...My legs looked smaller after a week of applying the lotion. Anyways, you can try it out for yourself.

She used to be my teacher in vocal ped. I felt really sad that she has passed away. I will always remember the first time I sang one of her arrangements which is "Chitchiritsit, Alibangbang"..I will really miss you Tita King...

Kaibigan Ako ng Diyos(Friend of God)

I will be posting some of the English Praise and Worship Song that my team and I translated to tagalog. Hoping that this will help other churches who are holding Filipino service. This is the first song:

Kaibigan Ako ng Diyos(Friend of God)
By ISRAEL

Sino ba 'ko upang 'Yong alalahanin
Pinapakinggan ang tawag ko
Tutuo ba na ako ay nasa-isip mo
Pagmamahal Mo'y walang Kupas

Chorus:
Kaibigan ako ng Diyos
Kaibigan ako ng Diyos
Kaibigan ako ng Diyos
Siya'y tutuo

Bridge:
O Panginoon ng Kaluwalhatian
Siya'y aking kaibigan

Alaska in the Philippines

This place is called Barlig and its in Mountain Province(north of the Philippines). People from there call it "Alaska of the North". At first, I didn't want to believe it but when I went and stayed there. Boy!, it was really cold. People from there told me that sometimes, you see frost on the ground when its cold season. Cold seasons in the Philippines starts on "BER" months, thats from September onwards, but the coldest is inanuary and February. I think thats the same time they see frost.

This is the place where good potatoes really come from. Its a small community on top of the mountain surrounded by forest. This was when I get to appreciate why my sisters from london and US brought me some winter clothes(thanks sisters)

Orange Trees, very pretty

This is one of my happiest days. I went up to Bontoc, Mountain Province. This is on the northern part of the Philippines. This is already my 5th time to go there but I always don't get the opportunity to get into the Orchard. And finally the day came. And here are some of the pics. Orange trees are rare in the Philippines as it has been believed to only grow in Cold Countries. But in Bontoc, the weather is really cool and it go as low as 9 degrees which is really ideal for Oranges to grow. In this Orchard, there were seven varieties of Oranges which I didn't really have time to focus on and really check as I was busy eating oranges and admiring the place.(LOL)

Mulan(filipino version)

Today, I get to watch Mulan with my niece Alexa. It was good actually to have watched Mulan "pinoy Style". The colorful costumes and make up was also good and the actors were really effective in their respective roles. My niece Alexa went to see it and expecting that it would be the same as Disney's version. She was not really disappointed but got scared when the lights went off and kept on asking if when is Mulan goin to sing "reflection".(LOL). I forgot to tell her that the musical play will be in "tagalog". But she appreciated it especially when an enemy of Mulan passed by and shouted right where we were sitting(LOL). She loved the part when snow fell on stage and wanted to go on stage just to see the styropore balls falling on stage. It was really fun and we asked the actors for their autograph afterwards. It was worth it.

Going Crazy with Miyazaki and Hisaishi

I have always loved watching anime. Maybe because I love the colors, their cute faces and the 'not so violent" nature(hehe). But I started really getting into it when 7 years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to "Grave of the fireflies", it was a tragic and sad film but little did I know that I will get addicted to it. I love it especially listening to their background music. But it was only this year that I really get to see a lot of animation films. A friend of mine gave me a couple of DVDs which are from Ghibli Studios. I started watching "Spirited Away" and I fell in love with chihiro's character, then "Porco Rosso" in which I fell in love with "Gina and Marco's theme". I really love the music!! and then I also like "Castle in the Sky", "Whisper of the Heart"; I love their version of Country road, it was really cute,Howl's moving castle; this one is my favorite of al as it has a happy ending, "My neighbor Totoro", Kiki's Delivery Service and many others. One thing I have really noticed with these films is that character's movements are not boring, like, you wouldn't expect cartoon characters to trip and fall, everything was like done and have been animated in their " natural" state. Now these films wouldn't be possible without these Two people: Hayao Miyazaki and Joe Hisaishi...Thanks to these two...now am addicted!!!...I searched all of youtube for their videos and I was blessed to have found a lot and I always play them whenever I want to relax, coz they relaxes me and takes my mind off of my work.
